Why should I have a design appointment?
The purpose of the COMPLIMENTARY design appointment for us to get acquainted and for you to begin your experience by familiarizing yourself with the McCay Photography photo gallery. A multi-image projection show will help to inspire you with ideas for clothing, location, and portrait style. Discussions during this time will help you plan and prepare for your portrait session.
You must find the work of any photographer beautiful and appealing before hiring them to create your portraits.

What should be worn for the photography session?
Clothing will directly affect the artistic success of any portrait. Your choice of clothing will depend on the style of the portrait. Will it be formal or informal? A classic portrait should draw attention to the faces in a photograph and not the clothing. Stay away from bold colors and loud, trendy, or busy designs as they tend to detract from the image. In a group portrait, coordinate the colors so that they are in keeping within the same tonal range and no one outfit tends to stand out from the others. Timeless styles and simplicity is generally the key.
